We had the opportunity to head over to the Tampa RV SuperShow this year while attending the Jayco Jubilee.
While we weren’t in the market for a new RV because we absolutely love our Jayco Seneca Prestige, we were checking out a bunch of new units.
One of the units that we really liked was the Jayco Seismic Luxury Series.
There was one that pulled in at the rally and as soon as I saw it, it stood out.
We had a toy hauler (not a Jayco) a few years ago before we had our Class A gasser and it was the biggest pile of junk around.
I won’t name the brand but we only owned it for 9 months. It was brand new but had a lot of issues.
So when we stepped inside the Jayco Seismic, we could not believe the difference in quality compared to the one we had.
Today we are sharing the 4 Reasons why we would choose the Seismic if we were in the market for a new toy hauler.
4 Reasons to Love the New Jayco Seismic
There are more than 4 reasons. However, this post would end up being way too long if I listed all the reasons we love it.
And remember, these are our reasons and may not be the reasons you would choose this particular model.
Reason Number 1 – The Appliances
When we built our house in Kansas, we chose the best of the best.
That meant choosing our appliances over the builder’s choice was a must.
So of course, we chose GE Profile appliances. GE was a name that I grew up with.
Everything my parents purchased had the GE name.
So, when I saw GE Profile appliances in the Jayco Seismic I was like whoa, Jayco went all out with this unit.
The stove in the Seismic was what caught my attention. It looks like a stove you would have in your sticks and bricks house.
The refrigerator has the water and ice in the door which I love (I have that in my Seneca) and makes it so much easier to get ice without having to open the door.
Reason Number 2 – Tires with Monitors
Right off the bat before even stepping inside, we noticed the American-made Goodyear tires.
And they also come with the JayCommand Tire Pressure Monitoring System. (Right here you have two pluses.)
Sorry, I did not get a picture of the tires.
If you have ever had a 5th wheel or travel trailer of any kind, you know that the tires that come on them are total junk.
People recommend that you purchase new tires on your new units BEFORE you even take your first trip.
The tires on most units are known for blowouts.
But most of the time, not only do you have to replace the blown tire and possibly a wrecked rim, but most likely there is damage to the fender and underside of the trailer.
And sometimes, even damage to brake lines and more.
Now, after spending a good amount of money on the unit, you’re expected to spend more to keep you safe?
I don’t think so.
With the Seismic Luxury Series, the tires are road-ready.
Reason Number 3 – The Storage
I was taken aback by all the storage. Of course, most people think that a 44 ft. trailer would have all kinds of storage.
But believe it or not, that is not always the case.
When I say storage, I am talking inside cupboards, not outside compartments.
When we had our 44 ft. toy hauler, we had come from a 35 ft. 5th wheel.
I thought, oh boy, there is going to be a place for everything.
Ha! Nope! Turned out, there were hardly any cupboards but I hadn’t noticed that before we purchased it.
So that is always something I make sure I check out in new units.
I had our garage filled to the brim along with the loft. It was a nightmare.
The Jayco Seismic has so many cupboards and kitchen counter space, that there is a spot for everything.
There are even secret compartments for my husband to put his stuff in when he empties his pockets at night.
Reason Number 4 – Double Patio and Natural Light
This is another bonus two for one reason.
I love the idea of the double patios, one in the back and one on the side.
Not only for extra space to enjoy the outdoors but for the natural light.
The sliding glass doors let in so much light that you think you are outdoors.
I have to have light. I could never live in a townhouse where there are no side windows to let the light in .
The windows above the seating area are tall allowing daylight and sun shine in.
There is also a window above the head of the bed which I also love. The morning light helps me to get out of bed and enjoy the day longer.
Bonus Reason – Multi-Level Steps
Let’s face it. At some point in our lives, we all have trouble walking upstairs.
That’s one of the reasons both the houses that we built were single-level.
In a normal 5th wheel, there are usually about three steps to get up to the bedroom or front living area.
The Seismic has two sets with two stairs and the other has one step.
While you still have to climb up the stairs, it’s not as bad when it’s gradual.
