RV Supplies You Didn’t Know You Needed
There are many RV items that we didn’t realize we needed until we hit the road.
Here is a basic list that we realized we were missing after only a couple of days on the road.
- Stabilizer Jack pads – While we didn’t think these were something we needed from the get go, if you are at a campground, especially one with black top pads, it will be in the rules that these are mandatory. So rather than have to buy them at the campground store, get them before you head out on the road.
- Electrical Dogbone Cord – Whether you have a 50 amp or 30 amp RV, there might be a time when you need to reduce from 50 to 30 or go up fro 30 to 50. Better to be prepared ahead of time.
- Enough Sewer Hose – Again, it’s better to be prepared ahead of time. We had people come and ask us if we have extra because of the location of the sewer. Every park is different and not enough stinky slinky can be a problem if no one is around.
- Sewer Donut – While we are on the subject of stinky slinkys, a sewer donut can be mandatory in some states such as Florida. Who knew? It fits on the sewer before adding your sewer hose creating an odor proof connection.
Pool and Pavilion
From April 15th to October 15th, you can enjoy their sparkling pool and bask in the sun by the poolside.
I find this a plus because many of the campgrounds that we stay at when traveling before Memorial Day or after Labor Day are usually closed even though it’s sweltering hot.
If you’re looking to host an event or gathering, the campground offers a pavilion that’s perfect for all your needs.
With a stunning backdrop, it’s the ideal place for an outdoor wedding or family reunion.
Tifton KOA Journey has all the amenities to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable.
Value for Money
Tifton KOA Journey offers excellent value for money.
With its affordable pricing and a range of lodging options, it’s an ideal getaway location.
The campground’s amenities are clean, from the bathrooms and showers to the laundry facilities and playground.
The staff is friendly and helpful, ready to answer any questions or help you with anything you need.
The campground’s proximity to surrounding attractions and restaurants is also a plus.
Pet Friendly
It’s always a plus when a campground is pet friendly.
The majority of RVers have at least one pet.
There is also a large dog park for your furry family member.
Internet and Cell Service
We tested the internet speeds on a Verizon jetpack, AT&T Netgear, Verizon phone, and the park internet.
We had 4 bars of Verizon service.
Where to Eat
KOA Restaurant
Our first choice for food is always right at the campground we are staying at.
After driving all those hours, who wants to unhook the car and have to drive some more? Not me!
You can get good food right at the restaurant in the campground store where you check-in.
While we did not eat there because I had food already made, it sure did smell good.
But if you want to go out and eat, always go where the locals go.
Pit Stop BBQ & Grill
The Pit Stop BBQ & Grill serves up some seriously good barbecue and is conveniently located just off the interstate.
Their lunch specials come with a choice of two sides, and the service is prompt – perfect for a quick meal on the go.
I highly recommend trying the potato logs for an appetizer. They’re excellent and come in a large quantity.
As for the main course, the half rack of ribs with baked beans and cucumber salad is a winning combination.
The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, and the cucumber salad is simply divine.
Portions are generous enough that you may need to take some of your meal home for later.
The friendly wait staff will greet you with a smile and make you feel right at home.
No matter what you order, you’re sure to leave Pit Stop BBQ feeling satisfied and impressed.
El Metate – Mexican
Let’s start with the star of the show- the shredded chicken quesadilla.
This dish is a must-try and is often praised for its juicy, flavorsome filling and crispy outer layer.
Served alongside a side of guacamole and sour cream, this quesadilla is a perfect appetizer or can be shared with friends.
If you’re in the mood for something refreshing, then look no further than the margaritas.
El Metate’s margaritas are sweet, tart, and pack a punch with a hint of tequila that will make your taste buds sing.
If you’re a fan of Mexican guacamole, then El Metate’s version is a real crowd-pleaser.
Often praised for its authenticity, the guacamole has just the right amount of seasoning that makes it practically as good as what you would get in Mexico.
The portions are incredibly generous, leaving you feeling satisfied and full.
The Tifton burrito is a standout dish that you don’t want to miss. It’s huge and packed with so much flavor that it’s often a favorite among regulars.
This salsa is a total game-changer and adds a bold and fiery flavor to any dish.
The salsa is made from fresh ingredients that are mixed in-house, giving it an authentic flavor.
