😎 Lime Lake, NY – Relaxation & Adventure

1,216 miles, five nights, and six days is how long it took us to get from Clermont, FL to Machias, NY.

Having lived in Buffalo most of my life, we acquired a piece of land from my in-laws, and this is usually where we spend out summer months in between travels.

We moved to Florida in 2003, 21 years ago, and while we really love Florida, it gets a little warm in the summer.

When I owned my snack bar in Florida, we would only come up for a couple of weeks.

Now, we normally come up and stay for a couple of months.

🧡 Why We Love Lime Lake

Lime Lake consists mostly of summer cottages. There are a few people who live here year-round.

The lake is not a big lake. When we had a sports boat, we could make it to the other side in minutes.

Now, we have a pontoon boat (which I love), and is perfect for this size lake.

Sitting outside, you hear the birds chirping, the boats and jet skis zooming along, and the occasional train. lol

It’s amazing how you get accustomed to the train horn and whistle and most of the time, it doesn’t even phase you.

You can hear the kids playing outside like they should be and smell the campfires from the weekenders.
