Simple RV Tow Checker

Pick your truck and the RV you’re eyeing. We’ll tell you if they’re compatible — no manuals required.

Educational tool only. This checker uses typical average specs for the truck model and RV type selected — not your exact vehicle. Real towing capacity and payload vary significantly by trim, engine, year, and configuration. Always verify with your owner’s manual, the sticker inside your driver’s door jamb, and weigh your actual loaded setup at a CAT scale before towing. Towing beyond your vehicle’s ratings is dangerous. Your tow vehicle
Find this in your owner’s manual or on the manufacturer’s towing guide. NOT the hitch rating.
This is on the sticker inside your driver’s door jamb — it’s the MOST important number for towing safety.
Your RV
The maximum loaded weight of the RV. Find it on the RV’s certification label or spec sheet.
For travel trailers: the weight the trailer puts on your hitch ball. Usually 10-15% of GVWR. For fifth wheels: pin weight is usually 15-25% of GVWR.
