We have traveled this route many times over the past 21 years.

However, there is also another one that we have taken but do not like as much.

We will talk about that one in an upcoming blog post with our itinerary for that route.

Buckle up and get ready for a road trip from Clermont, Florida to Lime Lake, New York!

A group of people sit and stand on a colorful, thatched-roof boat with an American flag on a lake, surrounded by trees and houses.

This journey promises unforgettable memories.

From savoring the charm of small towns to exploring the great outdoors, we’ve crafted the perfect itinerary for you.

⛽️ Discover Loves RV Stops

Our first pitstop is a classic road trip necessity: Love’s Travel Stops.

Known for its clean facilities and RV-friendly amenities, Love’s provides everything you need to fuel up, stretch your legs, and grab some snacks for the road.

🚍 Big Rig Friendly RV Park – Columbia, SC

Next, we roll into Columbia, South Carolina, where we find the perfect spot to rest at a Big Rig Friendly RV Park.

With spacious sites, full hookups, and a serene environment, this park ensures a comfortable stay.

An old, weathered RV with rust and dirt on its exterior is parked in an overgrown area near a forest. Vegetation surrounds the vehicle, and its tires appear deflated.

Soon, you’ll be able to take a dip in the pool, enjoy the Wi-Fi, and relish the southern hospitality.

🍷 Round Peak Vineyards Mountain Sunsets – Mount Airy, NC

As we journey into North Carolina, a visit to Round Peak Vineyards is a must.

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this vineyard offers spectacular mountain sunsets and a delightful wine-tasting experience.

⭐️ Visit Andy Griffith’s Hometown – Mount Airy, NC

Staying in Mount Airy, it’s time to step back into the 1960s and visit Andy Griffith’s hometown.

Wander through the Andy Griffith Museum, explore the iconic Main Street, and snap a photo at the famous Snappy Lunch.

A woman, smiling, wears a striped sleeveless top and stands beside a vintage gas pump labeled "Regular" at an outdoor location with a partially visible store behind her.

It’s a nostalgic trip that fans of the classic show will adore.

🚤 Summerville Lake Retreat – Mount Nebo, WV

Continuing our adventure, we arrive at Summerville Lake Retreat in Mount Nebo, West Virginia.

A motorhome parked on a gravel path next to a tree, with a scenic view of green hills and a sunset in the background.

This lakeside haven is perfect for kayaking, fishing, and hiking.

The peaceful setting and stunning views make it an ideal spot to unwind and recharge.

🏞️ New River Gorge National Park & Bridge Walk – West Virginia

Our next highlight is the New River Gorge National Park.

Here, you can embark on a thrilling Bridge Walk, offering panoramic views of the gorge.

This engineering marvel, standing 876 feet above the river, is a sight to behold.

A bridge spans a deep valley, surrounded by dense green trees under a partly cloudy sky.

🎬 Final Thoughts

This road trip from Clermont, Florida to Lime Lake, New York, is packed with adventure, relaxation, and discovery.

A large waterfall cascades into a river with lush greenery surrounding it. A vivid rainbow arcs across the mist at the base of the waterfall under a partly cloudy sky, making it one of the perfect day trips from Buffalo.

We could have taken longer to get here. However, we can’t stay away too long with my mother-in-law in the hospital in Florida.

Every stop offers something special from scenic vineyards and historic small towns to national parks.

So, hit the road and make memories that will last a lifetime. Safe travels and happy RVing!
